The idea that we didn’t have the language to give our ideas proper voice really struck me. I used to get Heat magazine every week and I vividly remember being on a bus one day looking at their photos circling fat and sweat etc and realising “I don’t know who most of these people are, I don’t care that they have cellulite. why am I reading this poison?”
